Cheap DJ Systems,How To Get Started Being A DJ

Lets face it. Becoming a DJ is not an easy, nor cheap endeavor. But with careful planning and being on the lookout for cheap DJ systems can help ease the transition.

The most difficult part of getting started is building up your money to buy the equipment. The situation is much like a Catch-22. You need the equipment to have the gigs, but you need the gigs first to be able to afford the equipment. One route to go is just to rent out the equipment. Another route is if you’re lucky enough to have a friend who’d be willing to let you borrow his equipment, take him up on it.

But, there is nothing like OWNING your very own DJ equipment. So the best recommendation would be to treat dJing as a hobby at the beginning, because in actuality it is. You’re not a pro yet. you’re stilling working that dull 9-5 job. But you are making money. And with that money, save everything penny that you could muster. Live on romin noodles for a while. When you have to all that money saved up, you’ll be glad you did.

Then you can start to be on the lookout for cheap DJ systems that will turn dJing from a hobby to a full fledged business. Start scouring the internet for great buys. An important piece of equipment is obviously the mixer. You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on a good mixer (it helps, but its not necessary). You could find really good, cheap mixers for a few hundred dollars.

If you’re going to scratch, then obviously a turntable should be a top priority. Buy a used turntable. You don’t have to buy the latest and greatest to get you started. Same thing with speakers, headphones, bubble machines, etc.

I know it doesn’t sound like a lot of fun buying cheap or used DJ equipment at first, but remember that a great DJ is a great DJ, irregardless of equipment. If you have a true talent, it will show and it will pay off. A year from now, you’ll be able to afford the most high-tech DJ equipment, but until then, just remember, that we all have to start somewhere.
